Description
Writing in 1920 aboard his military train in the midst of the Civil War, Trotsky defended the Bolsheviks’ revolutionary measures against Karl Kautsky, the German renegade from Marxism and opponent of Soviet power.
He writes “history … has not thought out any other way of carrying mankind forward than that of setting up always the revolutionary violence of the progressive classes against the conservative violence of the outworn classes.”
